Why Add Skylights?

Homeowners, architects, and custom builders rely on VELUX® skylights and tubular daylighting devices (TTDs) from Agoura Sash & Door to elevate residential design through natural illumination, fresh air ventilation, and energy efficiency.

Enhanced Brightness & Illumination: Introducing overhead daylight floods dark or windowless areas with vibrant, natural light, making living spaces feel instantly warmer and more inviting.

Spatial Volume & Architectural Depth: Skylights visually expand low or flat ceilings, creating an open, high-volume aesthetic that transforms ordinary rooms into extraordinary architectural features.

Fresh Air & Natural Ventilation: Operable venting systems allow trapped warm air and moisture to escape, circulating fresh breeze to naturally cool interior living spaces.

Energy Efficiency & Reduced Utility Costs: High-performance Low-E glass minimizes heat gain in summer while retaining thermal warmth in winter, lowering artificial lighting and power usage.

HVAC Protection & Equipment Longevity: By naturally venting excess heat and reducing reliance on air conditioning, skylights minimize daily wear and tear on home heating and cooling systems.

Smart Home Automation & Weather Sensing: Modern VELUX solar and electric units feature automated rain sensors that close windows instantly at the first drop of rain, alongside touch-control shading.

Skylight & Daylighting Products

Skylights do more than illuminate—they define how a space breathes, performs, and connects with the outdoors. Every style offers a unique balance of natural light, ventilation, and structural application.

When selecting new daylighting, understanding how different operating systems function helps ensure you choose the ideal match for your roofline and living space:

Engineered for active ventilation to release trapped heat and humidity. Solar-powered and electric models feature automated acoustic rain sensors that close the unit automatically at the first sign of weather, while manual control models offer a simple, cost-effective venting solution via a control rod or smooth hand crank.

A streamlined, leak-proof solution designed purely to flood interior spaces with abundant overhead daylight where fresh-air ventilation isn’t required.

Specialized tubular daylighting devices engineered to capture sunlight on the roof and channel it through highly reflective tubing into small, windowless spaces like hallways, walk-in closets, and powder rooms.

Engineered specifically for low-pitch roofs and in-reach attic conversions, providing expansive views, emergency egress capability, or transforming directly into an open-air balcony.

Available in solar, electric, or manual configurations with light-filtering or room-darkening blackout fabrics to give you total light and privacy management.
